The Norfolk Way

I finally managed to get together with Mid-Norfolk MP George Freeman at his constituency office in Dereham last week. I’ve been keen to talk to him since seeing his ideas on sustainable rural development – his ‘Norfolk Way‘ campaign – towards the end of last year. I couldn’t find the exact quote which stuck in my mind but it was something like:

The planning system thinks of sustainable development as putting development in sustainable locations, but it should also mean using development to make places more sustainable.

An interesting distinction, and one with obvious relevance to Ruralise. I hope to continue the discussion with George, and will update you on any developments.
